Mike Mooney: Remembered

Our deepest sympathies to family and friends on the recent passing of Mike Mooney.

Mike was well know in the motocross/car racing circles and will be missed by all who knew him.

His legacy will live on and his dedication will be remembered.

Rest in peace #22.

Race Day Schedule for June 25, 2011

Please note it will be inverted an schedule for Shadow Valley in Morden on Saturday June 25, 2011.

Round 6 of the FXR / HEADINGLEY SPORT SHOP Spring Series: Shadow Valley Raceway on Saturday June 25, 2011 in Morden, MB.

Round 6  of the FXR /Headingley Sport Shop Spring Series gets underway this Saturday June 25th at Shadow Valley Raceway in Morden, Manitoba.

Even if you’re not racing…. you’ll be part of a weekend filled with excitement while watching the best motocross racing Manitoba has to offer!  Great food including breakfast will be served from the canteen… which will be open on Saturday starting at 6:30am. Riders meeting is at 7:30AM, practice starts at 8:00AM and racing action gets under way Saturday 9:30AM…..bring your umbrella (for the sun) and tune into 95.3 FM for all the play by play race action.

Directions: From “Rocks Bar & Grill” in Morden go approx. 9.6 Km south on Hwy 432. The road turns to gravel, then follow the curve west for 0.8 Km and turn right into the track entrance (Large overhead sign). (Track is approx. 2 hours south west of Winnipeg).

Gate Admission:Weekend: Adults :$40,  Under 12: $25,   Preschoolers are free.
Sunday only is $25 for adults and $15 under 12 and pre-schoolers are free.

Saturday only must pay the weekend rate and you’ll be refunded the Sunday rate if you leave the premises right after the Saturday MMA race.

Camping is $10 per night.    Friday camping must pay for both nights and get a refund when leaving on Saturday.

Reminder: All Beginner classes and ALL Super Mini classes & smaller must get their bikes & helmet, tech inspected during sign-in hours ONLY.

Track Type: Natural terrain track with lots of elevation changes. Huge uphill double. 40 bike covered starting line with hydraulically operated gate and concrete starting pad heading downhill to a left turn. High speed track with many rollers, table tops and sweeping corners.

Registration: Please PRE-REGISTER ONLINE by Noon on Thursday, June 23rd and then sign-in on Friday (7:00-9:00pm) or Saturday (6:00-7:00am). Remember…late fees are in effect for failing to pre-register or late sign-in.

Minors: Reminder:  All riders under the age of 18 must have a Minor Participant Waiver and Parental Waiver filled out and brought to EVERY RACE.  PLEASE save some time and print them off at home, have them filled out and bring them to sign in.  Forms can be found HERE or you can get them at the MMA administration trailer.

*Note* No entry into the complex will be allowed between midnight and 5:30 am, so to avoid disappointment, please schedule your arrival accordingly.

Who Enjoys Motocross? Motocross has truly become a family event. Spectators come in all age groups, getting together to not only enjoy the racing but all of the other activities. We provide security, plenty of restroom facilities, lots of food is available, medical personnel are on hand, and you’ll find Morden be an extremely MX friendly community.

We Do Ask For Help: Our goal is to make Motocross fun and safe for everyone who attends. Therefore we ask your help in observing our rules. Personal fireworks are not allowed. We ask you to not use profane language and that you conduct yourself respectfully. Of course, we do not tolerate any weapons, intoxication, drugs, disorderly conduct, consumption of alcohol by minors and other violations of law. We are happy to report that incidents of this nature are rare.

History Has Been Made!

Congratulations to COLE DEKONINCK !

Cole is the first Manitoban ever to qualify for the Loretta Lynn Amateur US National Motocross Championships.

Cole qualified in the 85cc Mod class at the Sunset Ridge MX, north central regional race in Walnut, Illinois.

Wish him luck at the US Nationals to be held at Hurricane Mills, TN in August.

Brandon race cancelled

Farm boys raceway unfortunately will not be having a race or an open practice due to mother nature. Thanks to the guys who helped with the track (as it looks better than ever!). Thanks to all the people who have supported the track this year and in the past. Farm boys is not sure when the next race will be yet. Farm boys raceway says thanks!

Walton Raceway for 2011 Amateur Grand National Championship

June 19th is the time to panic for amateur motocrossers. The Wiseco Amateur Grand National Championship at the Parts Canada TransCan GNC is the only chance each year for amateurs from across the country to go head-to-head while a throng of spectators and a who’s-who audience of industry, sponsors and media are in attendance at of the most revered tracks in the country. It all happens at Walton Raceway August 15-20 2011.

Up until Thursday June 19th the CMRC regional Amateur National Qualifiers (ANQs) determine eligibility to pre-enter and the ranking for the Wiseco Grand National Championship in Walton Ontario August 15-20 2011. AFTER JUNE 19th ANQ RESULTS DON’T COUNT.

After June 19th entries for the Wiseco Amateur Grand National Championship will be taken on an as received basis.  IF there are still gate positions available, otherwise they are added to the standby list. You can avoid the panic, enter now at www.motoregistry.ca http://www.motoregistry.ca/

Brandon Race Cancelled

Unfortunately, due to mother nature not being very cooperative, Farm Boys Raceway has to cancel their scheduled race this Sunday due to the excessive amount of rain they received last night.  However, they will try to hold an open practice on Sunday weather permitting.

Reminder

Remember: Pit riding is a priviledge! First gear at IDLE to and from your moto only! (in full riding gear) Please remind your children of this.

This doesn’t include Dad riding back to the trailer on an 85 or doubling your girlfriend!…if you are spotted doing any of this….. your rider will be starting backwards for their next moto. This doesn’t help or contribute to your year-end points.
