Riders Moving Up
As the Grunthal race marks the close of the Spring Series and Baldur is the start of the Fall Series, there will be a few riders that have accumulated enough points to be moved up to the next classification. I will post a list on Monday of all riders who have earned enough points to move up. If there are any other riders who want to move up without achieving sufficient upgrade points, please contact me to make arrangements. Thanks!!

Can’t Get Enough ??
If you are looking for some “state side” race action while there is a lull in the MMA’s schedule…check out these links that are all within a reasonable driving distance. Many of these races are NOT held on Sunday….and from what we have heard….they are all very “Canadian Friendly”.

Keep the Feedback Coming!
With our request for ideas to help make the day flow faster….we have received many responses. Several were EXCELLENT ideas and a few were corny: KEEP THEM COMING!
Your BOD is going so sit down and bang a few of the real workable ideas into a blueprint “to get home earlier”….so for the next race in Grunthal we hope to have this new system ready to go.

Great news for the MMA!
Following is some documentation that the MMA has recently received from the CMRC.
Earlier this past year we implemented the ability for clubs to have up to 60 riders on the track for practices in an effort to speed up some of the race day programs. This ruling took place after the rulebooks and insurance packages were sent out, which is why it cannot be found within those documents.
While I understand the need to decrease the amount of time spent on practice for your race days, I urge you to exercise the utmost caution when allowing this number of riders on the track for a practice session.
So….in a nutshell; practice has the ability to flow faster with the changed insurance parameters allowing 60 bikes on the track instead of our regular 40!
You Have The Right To Remain Silent….or SPEAK OUT!
We’ve spoken to many members over the past few weeks about their dissatisfaction with the 2 lap motos that we’ve had to go with; regarding value for money spent….. It’s a tough act trying to balance equality, time, safety and value into the equation.
Your MMA BOD is always looking for ways to expedite a typical race day and have received several suggestions to that effect…some of which include: (these are just conceptual ideas at the current time)
1) Have practice on the Saturday and start racing on Sunday at 8:00am.
2) Run all of the “Mini classes” on the Saturday and just have the big bikes running on the Sunday.
3) Run the 50cc & 65cc classes simultaneously with the bigger bikes (on a different track)….utilizing the parents as flaggers and lap counters. They would simply hand over the results to the MMA staff.
4) Divide the province into 2 divisions.
As you can see…it would be extremely hard to create a “blueprint” to keep everyone happy…which is why we want you to put on your thinking caps and come up with some creative ideas!
It could be a pipe dream or perhaps you’ve seen something used in another district or?? If you remain silent…your ideas will never be heard. You could even send it anonymously….we don’t care….just send it!
PLEASE SEND IT HERE or to anyone of your executive via the CONTACT PAGE.
*NOTE* We are just taking input (ie. no response) at this time as we are compiling a list of “things to consider”.
MMA Results on the CMRC website
When you are looking up MMA results on the CMRC website, instead of selecting “Spring Series”, select “none” as there seems to be a problem with the upload process and if you select Spring Series, it shows our series as being incorrect. CMRC is aware of the problem and is looking into it.

Did You Know…..
That the Manitoba Motocross Association has an award winning OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER on site at almost every race. Most people are too busy during the regular race day and have limited access to the good shots…………Holeshot Photography has free reign of the entire track area (no one else can do this) where many excellent angles are found. They have a website where there are 100’s of photos of almost every rider available for free online browsing or purchase!

Starting June 8th in Brandon……
Due to the fact that we have so many entries coming in just before the 7:20am cutoff for registration on Sunday morning, we had to make some changes to sign in (registration) hours. We seem to be unable to process that many entries before rider’s meeting and therefore are unable to give info to the refs to tell all of you at rider’s meeting like if there are qualifiers, problems, etc. This is not a punishment or a “cash grab”, it’s a way to keep things flowing smoother, so please, either register the night before or between 6 & 7am on Sunday. The new hours and rules are as follows:–Sign in will be from 6 pm to 9pm on Saturday night, same as always.
–Sign in will now also be from 6am to 7am on Sunday morning.
Anyone showing up after 7am for sign in will be charged double for their classes so if your classes are $25 each and you’re racing 2 classes and you choose to come after 7am, be prepared to pay $100 instead of $50. There will be no exceptions or exclusions so govern yourselves accordingly when it comes to the amount of time needed. If you plan on coming Sunday morning please keep in mind that you’re required to sign a waiver at the gate and that will take extra time. THIS WILL TAKE EFFECT STARTING IN BRANDON, JUNE 8TH.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation….if we all work together this should not be a problem.
